Frequently asked questions

What is Wadham College Giving Day?

On Thursday 12 November 2020, Wadham is holding its second Giving Day! So many of you from the Wadham community were truly inspiring in making last year’s Giving Day a phenomenal success. This year we plan to build on this by engaging more students, staff, Fellows and alumni in celebrating what makes us #WadhamProud.

What makes a Giving Day different from any other day?

Gifts made towards the Giving Day, unlike donations made during the rest of the year, will have an even greater impact than usual.

Wadham’s Giving Day is a day to hear more about – and celebrate – what we’re doing to expand access to an Oxford education to the brightest students, regardless of their financial circumstances, as well as some of the life-changing, world-shaping research that many of our graduate students and academics are leading on. We are creating this one day for us all to come together and mark what makes our College unique, to communicate with the wider Wadham community, and to encourage everyone to support the Wadham Fund so that we can all continue our ground-breaking Access to Excellence programme and student support.

How do I get involved?

In the run up to Wadham’s Giving Day, you can become an ambassador and help us spread the word through your networks.

On the day all you need to do is give to the Wadham Fund what you can during the 36 hours of Wadham’s Giving Day. Just click on the donate button on Thursday 12 November. All gifts make a difference! You can also follow #WadhamProud and join in on Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook.

How can I give tax-efficiently from the US?

Yes, definitely! Just click on the Donate in USD button to give tax efficiently.

How do I know my donation is secure?

Wadham College uses an offsite payment processor called “Stripe” to process credit card donations. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

How can I help?

Your support will help make our second Giving Day a wonderful success. Post about the Giving Day on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, using the campaign hashtag – #WadhamProud2020 – to spread the word amongst your peers about this special day.

Want to make an even bigger difference? Click the Ambassadors Link in the menu bar to sign up as an Ambassador.

Can anyone participate in our #WadhamProud Giving Day?

Yes! The more who get involved, the greater a success it will be!

Where will the funds go?

On Wadham’s Giving Day, we’re asking our community to help us to create impact by giving to our pioneering Access and Outreach programme, “Access to Excellence”. Donations to the Wadham Fund on 12 November will go towards this programme to reach more students and open doors to an education at Wadham.
